Analysis of Influence

Bret Victor suggests, intuition comes from dancing up and down levels of abstraction. We give this a try here. post expand

Note: My analysis here is of an already radically abstracted notion of influence. That I might further travel up and down Bret Victor's ladder of abstraction is just computer play that might later inform some constructivist model of learning and the corresponding work thus required.

I've always enjoyed the theatre where the playwright presents his analysis of human nature in three acts. The company then interprets the scrip as they understand it so that I barely have to work at all. And beautiful set design with theatrical lighting completes the picture. I like that the subjects and characters within them are not strictly measured and quantified.

Bret's ladder offers a somewhat theatrical experience where the nature explored is already subject to algebra or calculus, the conventions of which he is trying to replace.
